Number Of Lessons?

There is no minimum number of lessons required to pass a driving test, and the number of lessons needed depends on how quickly you learn. On average, learners need 20 hours of practice and 45 hours of lessons, but some may need more or less.

When To Take The Test?

Your instructor will let you know when you are ready to take the test, but you should also trust your own judgement. It's important to take the test when you feel ready, not just because you want to be the first of your friends to pass.

What To Bring To Your First Lesson?

You will usually need to bring your provisional driving license and payment. If you need glasses to drive, you should bring those too.

What to ask a potential driving instructor?

You can ask a potential instructor about their teaching method, how long they've been teaching, and where lessons will take place.

You can also ask if they can help with the theory test.

Learning to drive with a friend or family member

It's possible to learn to drive with a friend or family member who meets the rules, but it's generally safer and more efficient to take lessons with a driving instructor.

Driving On Motorways
